RAIL WORK

Civil & Tunnel are leaders in rail infrastructure works, with extensive experience in the operational rail corridor and time critical track possessions.

We have particular expertise in:

  • Earthworks / track formation
  • Combined service trenching (CSR) & cable hauling for signaling, communications and electrical infrastructure
  • Under line crossings (ULX)
  • Galvanized steel throughing (GST)
  • Ground level throughing (GST)
  • Stanchion foundations


Civil & Tunnel recently completed over 6km of CSR (communications, signals & electrical) enabling works for John Holland on the South Sydney Freight Line, with up to 14 services in the shared trench.

The project was subject to the highest safety standards set by ARTC due to the proximity of the works to the live rail track, and the volume of existing high voltage and signal services, which had to be vacuum excavated prior to the works commencing.

Civil & Tunnel had up to 3 crews and over 30 personnel at any one time on the project.
